Escola del Treball Centre of Excellence, in Lleida, has made a firm commitment to Innovae for its methodological and digital transformation with the integration of Virtual Reality in its training plans for Renewable Energies.
This initiative has resulted in the implementation of an immersive Virtual Reality classroom, opening new horizons in collaborative learning and the achievement of student competencies, and positioning the centre as a benchmark in the use of these technologies
An innovative methodological approach
The incorporation of Virtual Reality at the Escola del Treball responds to the need to modernise training and prepare it for the challenges of the world of work. This technology allows students to practice in environments that simulate real work situations, offering a safe and efficient experience, especially when physical equipment is not available or when risky environments are involved. In addition, its ability to adapt to different learning paces makes it an inclusive tool, adjusting to the needs of each student.
As David Saura Vivanco, Director of Communication and Promotion and Coordinator of the centre, states, “We are transforming the way we teach and learn, preparing our students for the challenges of the future with tools that previously seemed to belong to science fiction or entertainment. Virtual Reality is already a reality in our school, and we are sure that it will mark a before and after in Vocational Training”.
Other benefits obtained thanks to our integral platform for the management of training based on Virtual Reality SAVI is the ease of constant updating of the simulators, which guarantees that the contents reflect the latest trends and technological advances, and the possibility of carrying out evaluations and obtaining learning results for each student.
In short, VR not only improves the professional preparation of students, but also brings greater security, flexibility and quality to teaching.
Virtual Reality simulators with high pedagogical value
One of the most relevant implementations has been the Wind Turbine simulator, developed jointly with Siemens-Gamesa and the Centres of Excellence in the Renewable Energy sector.

This simulator allows students to visualise and interact with the components of a full-scale wind turbine, understand how it works and perform maintenance operations virtually. This makes it a particularly valuable tool given the impossibility of having a wind turbine of real dimensions at the centre.
In addition, the Escola del Treball has acquired our Transformation Centre simulator, another key tool for training in the energy sector. These simulators not only improve learning, but also increase student motivation, offering a more interactive and attractive educational experience.
Benefits for all professional families
The investment made by the Centre of Excellence in the immersive Virtual Reality classroom has opened the door to the use of this technology in the rest of its professional families. The benefits obtained in the renewable energy cycles can be extrapolated to other subjects such as carpentry, electronics or chemistry, as VR is a transversal tool that enriches training in all areas.
In this way, the Escola del Treball is promoting this methodological advance with the support of disruptive technologies, positioning itself as a pioneer in educational innovation.
Teacher training in Virtual Reality technology
The school also uses ERAVIS, our tool for organising training in virtual environments where students and teachers can share content in real time.
Although the solution has a large repository of available 3D models, it also allows for the incorporation of content created by the centres themselves, a key aspect for its maximum use.
In this sense, the Escola del Treball is strongly committed to training teachers in Virtual Reality technology. This not only allows them to use the available simulators efficiently and profitably, but also to develop personalised content that is better adapted to the specific needs of their students and the requirements of the different training cycles.
A step into the future of education
The integration of Virtual Reality at the Escola del Treball de Lleida represents a step forward in 21st century education, facilitating learning in complex or dangerous environments and fostering motivation, inclusiveness and adaptability to different learning paces. With projects like this, it is clear that innovation and educational excellence go hand in hand.
